概要

Xen は、VM86 モードへの x86 タスク切り替えを誤って処理するため、権限を取得される、またはサービス運用妨害 (ゲスト OS クラッシュ) 状態にされる脆弱性が存在します。

想定される影響 ローカルの 32-bit x86 HVM ゲスト OS ユーザにより、ハードウェアタスク切り替えを使用し、新たなタスクが VM86 モードでスタートするのを許容するゲスト OS を利用されることで、権限を取得される、またはサービス運用妨害 (ゲスト OS クラッシュ) 状態にされる可能性があります。

概要

Xen 4.0.x through 4.7.x mishandle x86 task switches to VM86 mode, which allows local 32-bit x86 HVM guest OS users to gain privileges or cause a denial of service (guest OS crash) by leveraging a guest operating system that uses hardware task switching and allows a new task to start in VM86 mode.
