Xen の arch/x86/x86_emulate/x86_emulate.c の x86_emulate は、supervisor モード権限を適切にチェックしないため、サービス運用妨害 (ゲストクラッシュ) 状態にされる、またはゲストカーネルモード権限を取得される脆弱性が存在します。

想定される影響 ローカルの HVM ユーザにより、(1) HLT、(2) LGDT、(3) LIDT、または (4) LMSW インストラクションに関する問題によって、サービス運用妨害 (ゲストクラッシュ) 状態にされる、またはゲストカーネルモード権限を取得される可能性があります。

概要

The x86_emulate function in arch/x86/x86_emulate/x86_emulate.c in Xen 4.4.x and earlier does not properly check supervisor mode permissions, which allows local HVM users to cause a denial of service (guest crash) or gain guest kernel mode privileges via vectors involving an (1) HLT, (2) LGDT, (3) LIDT, or (4) LMSW instruction.
