Summary

libuser before 0.56.13-8 and 0.60 before 0.60-7, as used in the userhelper program in the usermode package, directly modifies /etc/passwd, which allows local users to cause a denial of service (inconsistent file state) by causing an error during the modification. NOTE: this issue can be combined with CVE-2015-3245 to gain privileges.

Red Hat Enterprise Linux のユーザモードパッケージの userhelper プログラムで使用される libuser は、/etc/passwd を直接変更するため、サービス運用妨害 (ファイルの不整合) 状態にされる脆弱性が存在します。

Possible impacts ローカルユーザにより、/etc/passwd の変更中にエラーを引き起こされることで、サービス運用妨害 (ファイルの不整合) 状態にされる可能性があります。  また、CVE-2015-3245 と組み合わされることで、権限を取得される可能性があります。
