Summary

Linuxカーネルにおいて、以下の脆弱性が修正されました。ALSAのusb-audioドライバにおいて、Scarlett2ミキサーインターフェースの解析時にエンドポイント番号をチェックする処理が不十分でした。USBオーディオドライバのScarlett2ミキサーは、誤ったUSB記述子が渡された場合にNULL参照が発生する可能性がありました。これは、scarlett2_find_fc_interface()内で解析されたインターフェースにエンドポイントが存在すると想定していたためです。この問題はファザーツールによって報告されました。NULL参照を回避するために、bNumEndpointsの正当性チェックを追加し、無効なインターフェースをスキップするように修正しました。

Summary

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

ALSA: usb-audio: Check endpoint numbers at parsing Scarlett2 mixer interfaces

The Scarlett2 mixer quirk in USB-audio driver may hit a NULL
dereference when a malformed USB descriptor is passed, since it
assumes the presence of an endpoint in the parsed interface in
scarlett2_find_fc_interface(), as reported by fuzzer.

For avoiding the NULL dereference, just add the sanity check of
bNumEndpoints and skip the invalid interface.
