X.Org XサーバーのX Keyboard（Xkb）拡張機能において、XkbSetCompatMap()関数で不適切な境界チェックがあり、符号なしショートのオーバーフローが発生する可能性がある欠陥が確認されました。攻撃者が特別に細工された入力データを送信すると、値の計算がオーバーフローし、メモリが破損したりクラッシュが発生したりする可能性があります。

Summary

A flaw was identified in the X.Org X server’s X Keyboard (Xkb) extension where improper bounds checking in the XkbSetCompatMap() function can cause an unsigned short overflow. If an attacker sends specially crafted input data, the value calculation may overflow, leading to memory corruption or a crash.
